EMERSON HALL
Emerson Hall was built as the Acadia College Library in 1913 and was both a handsome and commodious new facility for a campus with an enrollment of 244 students. Emerson Hall was, in fact, part of an ambitious building program fueled by Rockefeller money and generous funding from the Emerson family. These were heady days for the College with what might have appeared to be endowment money to burn. And, burn it did the following year with Chipman Hall and Academy Residence going up in smoke.
